Heralded as the national poet and voice of Palestine, the words and life of Mahmoud Darwish reverberated in the hearts of Palestinians and non-Palestinians alike. Intensive Care Unit was filmed just two weeks after the poet’s death in the midst of an international wave of mourning for Darwish. Filmed using shots by youth in the Shufat refugee camp, this short film traces the resonance of Darwish’s voice amongst Palestinians today.
